We love children at Harlem Baptist! Ministry to children and their families are a vital part of our church. We desire to help children experience and show the Love of Christ. A large part of our ministry is to show the Love of Christ to all of the children in our community whose families may or may not attend HBC. What a blessing it is to see children develop a Love for God and to see them show that Love to others.
Each Sunday we have a fully staffed nursery for newborns through age 2 beginning at 9:45am.
Sunday School: Preschool ages 3-5 meet at 9:45am before attending Children’s church during our 11am worship service.
Children in grades 1-5 also attend Sunday school in our children’s wing located on the 2nd floor of our Sanctuary building. These children are encouraged to attend 11am worship with their parents
AWANA: Awana is our Wednesday night children’s ministry. It is open for children in 1st-5th grade and begins at 6:30pm each week. For over 60 years the Awana program has empowered churches to teach children to know, love, and grow in their relationships with Christ. Each week children commit to memorizing scripture, learning the Bible, and experiencing the love of Christ through His Word and through our many volunteers who are committed to loving our children as Christ loves us.
August 9 at 6:30 pm
Beginning August 9, Sunshine Choir and Music Makers will be moving to Wednesday nights and will become a part of the AWANA schedule each week. This “Praise Time” will be incorporated into the rotation of AWANA. Kathy Arrowood will be leading. We hope this will be a positive change and will involve many more children than the Sunday afternoon rehearsals did. They will continue to sing a couple of times each semester during our Sunday morning worship services AWANA will now begin at 6:30 pm on Wednesday nights. We are excited and look forward to a great year with our children!
