We love children at Harlem Baptist! Ministry to children and their families are a vital part of our church. We desire to help children experience and show the Love of Christ. A large part of our ministry is to show the Love of Christ to all of the children in our community whose families may or may not attend HBC. What a blessing it is to see children develop a Love for God and to see them show that Love to others.
We encourage your child to participate in a time of discipleship called Power Up (formerly known as Sunday School) on Sundays at 9:45 am.
We have a worship service designed specifically for kids on Sunday mornings. Children will attend morning worship with the congregation and then will be dismissed to their own worship service. Our volunteers are verified and go through background checks. They are passionate about seeing and helping kids grow and knowing who Jesus is. We also utilize a check-in system to ensure the safety of your children.
Awana is our Wednesday night children’s ministry. It is open for children in pre-k through 5th grade and begins at 6:15pm each week. For over 60 years the Awana program has empowered churches to teach children to know, love, and grow in their relationships with Christ. Each week children commit to memorizing scripture, learning the Bible, and experiencing the love of Christ through His Word and through our many volunteers who are committed to loving our children as Christ loves us.
